Strategic partners RheinEnergie and MENNEKES Elektrotechnik are combining their expertise in the field of e-mobility through an investment in chargecloud. The previous shareholder, powercloud, divested its shares to the acquiring companies.

chargecloud offers a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution for the successful operation of charging infrastructure. Whether it's managing charging points and user data or processing charging transactions, chargecloud’s software covers all e-mobility processes. The software specialist's customers include fleet operators, automotive manufacturers, as well as energy providers and electrical engineering companies.

"With the investment in chargecloud, we underscore our long-term commitment to the future of e-mobility. Our focus lies on stability, scalability, and security. We clearly stand by our joint subsidiary chargecloud, which has held an excellent market position since its inception, thanks to its impressive growth trajectory," says Achim Südmeier, Sales Director of RheinEnergie.

Christopher Mennekes, the managing shareholder of MENNEKES, adds: "The story of chargecloud has been a continuous success story since its founding in 2016. We will now joyfully continue shaping this story together. For MENNEKES, chargecloud is an essential component in the further development of our own digital e-mobility services. Additionally, the company's SaaS solution offers an attractive option for all charging infrastructure operators, which will be crucial in further expanding electromobility in Europe."

chargecloud was founded in 2016 as a start-up on the initiative of RheinEnergie in close cooperation with MENNEKES, a pioneer in the field of charging systems for e-mobility and a leading manufacturer of industrial plug connectors. Since its inception, powercloud has also been a shareholder in chargecloud. Through its strategic focus on software solutions for suppliers, metering point and network operators in the energy industry, powercloud aims to concentrate on its own further market positioning in these segments in the long term.
